PRIVACY / SYAVEL JOURNAL
A collection does not need an audience
Privacy as a choice in digital collecting, with honest limits on what technology can promise.
BY SYAVEL · ORIGINAL EDITORIAL
A collection can be a public conversation or a private room. Neither mode is more authentic. The choice matters because collecting is personal before it becomes visible.
Digital systems can make visibility feel inevitable. Profiles, transaction histories, and social sharing may reveal more than a collector intended. A considered gallery should ask which information is necessary before asking for it.
SYAVEL’s public preview requires no account to browse and has no analytics provider enabled. Payments, ownership transfers, and live ownership records are not active. Future services need clear explanations of what they collect, who receives it, and how long it is retained.
Privacy is not a promise of absolute anonymity. Payment providers may require identity checks, and public blockchains can expose transaction relationships. Choosing future infrastructure means facing these limits honestly while making public recognition optional wherever possible.
